We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel star Shell. We were welcomed with a drink on arrival. The staff on reception were very attentive and helped to carry our bags up to our room. The room was spacious beautifully decorated soft furnishings with very pleasant and the room was fitted out so well with space saving units close finishes which made it feel as if detail of being considered. There was an ample hanging space in the wardrobe plenty of drawers for storage. Safety deposit box was located within the wardrobes. There was a fully stocked mini bar as well as tea and coffee making facilities and complementary water. The bed was super comfy and the bed linen was crisp and smelt lovely, we were pleased with the two pillows each as well that’s always a bonus. It is located on the corner of the main road running through Hulemale, however the glazing is sufficient enough to keep the noise of the road outside. The air-conditioning unit is efficient and fairly quiet. The bathroom is a good size and the shower had excellent pressure. I was lovely and hot. We were transiting in Hulemale, so only stayed for one night but there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby on the main road to find something nice to eat for dinner and pick up any essentials you might have missed. It’s a short walk from the lovely beach so if you you are in Hulemale for a couple of days it’s a nice place to stop at. We are returning to Hulemale in a weeks time and I’ve already booked and as a three nights there. The inclusive breakfast offered continental and Malian options, together with juice tea and coffee. We would recommend this hotel.

The hotel staff is friendly and attentive—any questions we had were quickly resolved. The hotel itself is small but very cozy. The food here is excellent; we ordered lunches and dinners, and everything was delicious. The fresh fruit cocktails were especially delightful. The locals are very kind, friendly, open, and sincere—it’s a pleasure to interact with them. We stayed at the hotel for 8 days and had the opportunity to experience the local culture. If you want to immerse yourself in the local culture, connect with the residents, and at the same time enjoy the beauty of white sand and the incredibly warm ocean, then Hulhumale is the perfect place for you. This is not a resort island, so wearing swimsuits is not allowed here, but the sand is just as white, and the sea is just as clear. Overall, this is a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Star Shell for a night before heading to our next resort after landing in Male City late in the evening. The property was good overall. While the price might feel a bit high compared to other countries, it was worth it. The room was small but perfectly suitable for an overnight stay before transferring to our resort the next day. Breakfast was included, which was a nice touch. Plus, 2-3 minutes walk to the beach is also good way to choose the Star Shell.

Stayed here for 8 days comfortably. Fundamentally, the room was clean, the staff was professional, and they had a good selection of food. It's also close to the beach and you can easily catch the bus from the nearby stops to go anywhere. Oh and a bonus - THEY HAVE A LIFT. This last point is a bit one because there's a bunch in Hulhumale without it, which forces you to carry your luggage.

The staff in the hotel were very helpful with us, they let us check in early after a long flight and even helped us find the best excursion options in Hulhumale. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was served downstairs at a buffet, lunch and dinner were chosen from a fixed menu, with not many options, but the food was well prepared and tasty.
